7th-grade students can apply during the fourth quarter of the school year to be on the robotics select team.

Gateway to Engineering 8 Elective Class
Students interested in the robotics team must elect to take the Gateway8 class to learn the necessary skills in robotics and programming. Students selected for the team will be placed into a yearlong Gateway class.
Student Time Commitment
Students will attend Robotics Summer Camp - Mon 8/5, Tues 8/6, & Wed 8/7 (8:30 AM-12:30 PM all three days)
Talon Time - all school year
Early October through early March
Weekly: After-school meetings w/teachers (1-2 hours, once per week) typically on Thursday’s 2:30-4:15 but may change to other days for schedule conflicts. An additional day may be added if students need more time to progress.
Varies: Individual team meetings (1-2 meetings per week after school, evenings, or weekends. Individual teams determine when, where, & how long).
Competitions: 4 to 5, typically on Saturdays, late December through early March

Fees
Annual fee: will be TBD (includes the Robotics Summer Camp fee, whether you attend or not, it’s included.)
Do NOT pay when applying on the short application. Only students who make the team and complete the longer application will need to pay the team fee.
